Nana's Journey | Our Story

Kantilal Chudasama a.k.a My NANA

The designer and mastermind behind our handmade bags is my Uncle/Nana Kantilal Chudasama. He grew up in a small village in Gujarat, India and I always remember seeing him as the most creative person ever. He has crafted countless fun and intricate handmade items that I can't even comprehend. Despite his immense talent, he didn't have the money to showcase his creations to the world.

But let me tell you, even while residing in the smallest village, he has designed some beautiful pieces and even shipped them to Singapore—a remarkable achievement for someone who cannot speak or write in English.

My Nana and his wife used to buy cloth and transform them with their designs, handwork, and embroidery for huge garment companies. But once the world became more digital, he lost his income. It was heartbreaking to see someone so talented struggle. But Nana, with his unwavering spirit, started his own venture. Despite his hard work, making money has been a constant challenge.

This brand is not just about selling tote bags; it's about fulfilling dreams.

Nana and I "collaborated"

I always dreamed of designing my own tote bag. I knew digital technology but had no idea how to make a bag. He knew everything about crafting but nothing about technology. So we "collaborated."

Our journey is one of resilience, creativity, and the bond between generations. Nana’s eye for quality and my drive to share his work with the world have combined to create something truly unique. My goal with this business is to help Nana in every way possible because his creativity deserves to be recognized and celebrated.

This is our dream, our journey, and our story. ~ Margi
